A heavy day

The rain didn’t stop today,
and the skies are more gray than their usual blue.
It lacks depth,
there’s no dimension up there today
And the rain falls slowly
From the gray.
Lush,
pine green trees
stand beautifully underneath,
with brown trunks supporting the foliage.
A seagull passes through my vision,
rather quickly.
The rain hasn't stopped today,
but life still grows,
and birds are flying.
And I,
Await.
The clouds are not dark,
yet they are heavy
And gray.
I am heavy,
and gray.
The wind
sends a light chill through my body.
My chest tightens,
my mind wanders.
“Lord”
I whisper from within.
“Pray”
My spirit beckons.
“Thank you Lord” — from deep inside, a still voice — I respond
The sky is gray,
heavy
but the rain is light.
I breathe in
Truly, a gifted breath.
